Quality Engineer – Software Tester Job Description:
• Develop and execute functional testing for mobile applications and supporting back-end services; pull together appropriate teams as needed to solve challenges and critical quality issues.
• Ensure completeness and quality of all functional /non-functional deliverables.
• Work with other testers, developers and/or Product Management to understand requirements for an area of work and translate those requirements into a test plan that measures quality.
• Coordinate software test activities including making key test design decisions.
• Conduct test reviews (and attend code & design reviews) to help ensure that development process is followed and that the criteria for delivery to product owners are attained.
• Troubleshoot, isolate, and document problems encountered during testing
• Accurately provides project scope and effort estimates that are used as input for defining project release planning.
• Responsible for running test automation where applicable
Qualifications:
• 2-4 years planning and successfully executing functional / non-functional testing activities, preferably in a cloud environment
• Demonstrated experience as a quality advocate involved throughout the SDLC to recommend and improve testing and quality related efforts prior to release.
• Solid understanding of software development and architecture concepts for server / UI and Native Mobile application environments (Android / iOS)
• 2 – 4 years hands on experience testing back-end services and building / working with Postman Collections (or related tools)
• Superior communication skills (verbal / written) and ability to actively influence quality decisions on the team
• Extremely self-motivated and ability to learn technical / non-technical concepts quickly and efficiently and solve problems independently.
