About the role:
Gartner is looking for a Test Engineer with strong ETL data warehousing, SQL scripting & BI report validation experience to join their team to understand and implement best-fit approaches to testing ensuring quality delivery while following the industry best practices. Working knowledge of MDM system and experience in API testing will be a plus.
What you’ll do:
Review functional and technical documents to understand the data lineage.
Create and execute manual and automated test plans for ETL data pipeline, functionality, acceptance, regression, performance testing.
Engage and partner with developers and BA in an agile development environment to understand requirements and perform testing.
Create test scenarios, run functional tests, create regression suite, create testing artifacts, and raise defects with detailed information.
Follow coding standards, build appropriate unit tests, integration tests and deployment scripts and review project artifacts created by peers.
Design and develop automation scripts.
What you’ll need:
2-4 years hands-on experience in ETL concepts and testing in data warehouse/data driven projects. Working knowledge of MDM system.
Strong command in writing complex PL/SQL scripts for Datawarehouse/ETL testing.
Understanding and testing experience in Data Warehousing/MDM and Data modelling.
Should have worked on cloud platform such as Azure or AWS.
Experience in testing ETL pipelines, BI dashboards & Self-Service reports
Hands on experience of Test management tools JIRA, QC etc.
Experience in testing API’s using Postman or automation tool will be a plus.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills, with strong ability to learn, adapt and comprehend business processes.
Perform root cause analysis on the issues reported.
