Role Summary:
The role of a test engineer is to collaboratively work with Test lead and feature team to collectively create manual and automated test plans and test cases that aligns with the overlal test strategy. The test cases can either be manually tested or integrated to a pipeline for automation.
Dimension of Function
Well versed with automation test scripting e.g., Java
Create test plans and test cases to be reviewed and signed off by the test lead and Application responsible
Work with Test Lead to create metrics per module to be used for overall reporting
Deliver consistently with the desired productivity and quality
Collaborates actively with the Test Lead and other feature team members to exchange information
Focus on continuous improvement to improve Quality and velocity
Work with the leads to proactively share information and identify technical debts for earlier resolution
Possess good communication skills and precisely describes problems and solutions
Provide quality deliverables with minimal code review comments and defects
Area of Responsibility
Create test plan and test cases
Work with the feature team members to understand the prioritized requirements and to create test plans and cases on time and be ready for execution
Focus on the continuous improvement and actively seek feedback and address actions on improvement areas
Address review comments provided on test artefacts and minimizing repeating comments
Test Execution
Reporting test results for the module being worked on
Tracking defects and ensuring resolution
Knowledge / Experience
3 to 6 years of overall experience with minimum 1 years of hands-on experience in automation of test cases using Selenium.
Experience with manual and automated testing targeting a full-scale web application hosted in cloud
Exposure to automation test scripting using Selenium and Cucumber
Exposure to the concept of Test-Driven Development approach
Prior exposure to automated test pipelines
Experience working with Agile Ecosystem – Principles, timeboxing, roles and ceremonies
