Role Summary:
The role of a test lead is to collaboratively work with business, Application responsible and feature team to collectively create manual and automated test case strategies, plans and test cases which can be either manually tested or integrated to a pipeline for automation.
The Test Lead is the eventual gatekeeper for quality of code delivered to production.

Well versed with test management tools and strategies
Well versed with automation testing tools and applicability
Create test reports which can be reviewed with stakeholders for sign off
Showcase metrics with respect to testing including, coverage, execution status, defect metrics.
Deliver consistently with the desired productivity and quality
Collaborates actively with the Technical Lead and other feature team members
Focus on continuous improvement to improve Quality and velocity
Work with the leads to proactively share information and identify technical debts for earlier resolution
Possess good communication skills and precisely describes problems and solutions
Provide quality deliverables with minimal code review comments and defects
Area of Responsibility
Proactively understand business requirements and identify the testability of the same
Breakdown the requirements into tangible modules
Development of test strategies for the application with a detailed breakdown on the modules that can be automated vs not
Create test plan and test cases
Mentor and lead the team of test engineer(s) to work closely with the feature team to understand the prioritized requirements and to create test plans and cases on time and be ready for execution
Focus on the team’s continuous improvement
Actively provide and seek feedback with the Application responsible, feature team and the test engineers
Reviewing test artefacts
Managing test execution
Reporting test results
Tracking defects and ensuring resolution
Evaluating and improving the testing process
Knowledge / Experience
9 years of overall experience with minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in leading teams that caters to testing of end user facing web applications.
Experience with manual and automated testing strategies targeting a full-scale web application hosted in cloud
Expertise with automation tool using Selenium and Cucumber
Experience on Test Driven Development approach
Prior exposure to automated test pipelines
Experience working with Agile Ecosystem – Principles, timeboxing, roles and ceremonies
