This position in the Product Validation Department requires skills in Product Validation & Testing of Ovation Hardware & Software applications designed mainly for power plant control, optimization and simulation, in fully assembled system environment. The testing will be performed from various perspectives – System performance, Basic Functionality, Compatibility etc.
The successful candidate will work as part of a global multi-cultural development team
Responsibilities:
Lead testing efforts for Ovation, Add-ons or Security products.
Actively participate in the testing of DCS software by following Test Cycle-Smoke, first pass, & regression testing.
Developing test plans, scenarios and test cases
Maintain product quality testing within agreed schedule
Posting issues; debugging and recreating reported problems.
Designing and evaluating software testing data
Developing test scripts and configurations
Collecting and analyzing test results and software quality measurements
Preparing Test for complex enhancements procedures from Software Specifications
Co-ordinate periodic patch activity
Create and maintain database and lessons learnt documents after project completion.
Perform project closure activities to complete project quality documents.
Required skills and experience:
Desired work experience in years: 10 – 14 years
Graduate of BE Engineering course (Instrumentation, EE, ECE, Power)
Worked on DCS/PLC/SCADA
Virtualization - Experience on VMware vSphere with VCenter Management, expertise on ESXi architecture & servers, Good hardware skills (servers, storage SAN, iSCSI)
Networking - Good knowledge of configuration of switches, routers ,create virtual switches & port groups, configure virtual networking for redundancy( Preferably Cisco CCNA level)
Expertise on SCADA, RTU & 3rd Party Protocol – GOOSE, DNP, Modbus, IEC 61850 -101, IEC 61850 -103 , EGD etc.
Expertise on Bus technologies- Profibus, Device net, Fieldbus, HART
Experience of working on Hardware : Controller - IOIC/Processor, speciality I/O modules – Excitation System, Vibration Monitoring
Experience using Windows operating systems, Installation of Windows OS, drivers and Microsoft patches.
Advanced knowledge of the Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Experience of Writing test cases for complex enhancements
Knowledge of Installation and configuration of product components for Security solutions
Excellent debugging and troubleshooting abilities
Strong teamwork skills
Fluent verbal and written communication in English
Optional skills
ISTQB certificate on at least Foundation level
Strong Computer Skills
Familiarity with one or more of the following industries: power generation, water / wastewater, hydrocarbon processing, oil and gas, pulp and paper, specialty chemicals, pharmaceutical or food and beverage
Knowledge of C/C++/C#/.NET, VMware, Crystal Reports, Communication Protocols etc.
